Mushroom
Mushroom run run brother
Five minute to the hour
Five minute to the hour
It was a beautiful day
The sun was laughing
the clouds away
Delay action
Shadowed intruder
Giggling back revealing
Tracking devices
Brilliant blue
Panic crisis
Birds were singing through the air
Drone strikers skyward
Through the trees
the morning breeze
enters my window
Wild card
lash out assassins
And the ray touched your eye
Then a still sudden silence
It was a different day
A new day
The last morning
Out-stretched palms open to Heaven
It came out to the clear blue sky
Sudden clusters of clouds and fire and
colored lights
From the underground
Underbelly of a Holy city
Reigning fear
What but for the flying paper-tiger
Bombs and missiles start flying
Dreams whirl like arrows in flight
Despite no clear and present danger
But a thought
Made it so
Stars, tears, and fire in your eyes
Sing now
The time-zero is nigh
How soon it comes
Black-out…
Love will not soon forget.
– Ephraim Hylton
Buried There
Buried there
Under the ground
Under the dust
of your feet
Do not walk
Away
A sound
So empty
It carries me
Deep
Do not leave me
Here
By myself
Back in this cold
Dark earth within
To sleep
Without rest
– Ephraim Hylton
We Are One (audio)
We Are One
We are one
Odd as it seems
We need each other
To fulfill our dreams
Let Love lead us
To a place
Of light and visions
Beyond Imagination
The Love you share
Will come back
Multiplied
Give of yourself freely
And your heart
Will beat your blood
More red more alive
Than poppy roses
In green fields
Where thoughts
Run wild
And free
– Ephraim Hylton
Within Your Nature
Sometimes
Its like
You’re caught
In a dream-nightmare
Its going
So fast
There is no
Playbook
What to do
A black white-speckled
Universe
Around above your head
Particles of words light
And sounds
Collide
Against an ozone
of expectations
So the real
May come through
To a private provocative
place
In the heart
Within your nature
The movement of sounds
The feelings of words
The breath of night and day
And all-
So brief
– Ephraim Hylton
